Easy Nutella Oat Bars made with just four simple ingredients. A delicious breakfast idea kids will love!

With the mornings getting colder you may want to give the kids something warm for breakfast. You can’t beat a big bowl of porridge but I know this isn’t always the most palatable food for fussy eaters!

Instead try making these Baked Nutella Oat Bars. All the goodness of porridge but served up in a soft oat bar instead.

And of course flavoured with Nutella – a kiddie favourite!

Baked Nutella Oat Bars Recipe

Start with one banana which you can mash directly into an oven dish.

The beauty of this recipe is that everything is mashed/mixed in the same dish it’s cooked in. Meaning less washing up which is always a win.

Whole Banana being mashed up with a fork in a blue dish.

Next, add oats, milk and nutella and mix well.

To make this recipe gluten free use certified gluten free oats.

And you can make it dairy free by using any non-dairy milk of your choice.

I used Nutella which obviously contains hazelnuts but you can also use a nut-free chocolate spread.

Other ingredients being added to the blue dish.

The Nutella will mix in really easy with the oats and milk.

Just give it a good mix with a spoon.

Then bake in the oven at 180c for 30 minutes.

Once cooked, leave to cool for 5 minutes. This will help to make the bars a little firmer.

Then cut into 8 pieces.

Storing & Freezing

These bars will keep in the fridge for up to 3 days.

They can also be frozen. Defrost in the fridge overnight and reheat in the microwave the next morning.

Serve them up for breakfast with some chopped fresh fruit.

You can also add a portion of yogurt on the side too for added protein and to help keep kids full all morning.

Product Recommendations

My kids love these fun colourful plates. They’re microwave and dishwasher safe too!

This is the the oven dish that I used in this recipe. It’s the perfect sized for the Baked Nutella Oat Bars.
