This Candy Cane Popcorn with White Chocolate and Marshmallows makes a tasty festive treat and can be packaged up as an edible gift too!

Candy Cane Popcorn with White Chocolate and Marshmallows

There’s nothing better than a big bowl of popcorn to keep the family snack happy. But why not make it extra festive at this time of year with my recipe for this candy cane version!

Picture settling down with the kids in front of one of your favorite Christmas movies with a big bowl of this white chocolate candy cane popcorn! Sounds good right?

This Christmas themed popcorn is super easy to make and so much cheaper than buying a bag of gourmet popcorn from the shops!

CANDY CANE POPCORN INGREDIENTS

The Popcorn

You can use any sort of popcorn you want for this recipe.

You can use your own home-popped popcorn made from kernels in an air popper if you have one, or made on the stove in a pot. This is probably the cheapest way and popcorn kernels are readily available in most supermarkets these days as well as a lot of health food stores.

But you could alternatively use the ready popped variety or even microwave popcorn is fine too!

In terms of the flavour of the popcorn, it really is up to you. Choose plain or sweet or even a mixture of the two!

The Toppings

To the popcorn we simply added some crushed candy canes, mini marshmallows and lots of melted creamy white chocolate!

But again, you can always change up the toppings to suit your own tastes with different flavours of melted chocolate or some different Christmas themed toppings.

POPCORN OCCASIONS

Not only is this popcorn recipe fantastic for movie night, it’s also the perfect party food for kids Christmas parties served in these cute little pots.

Or you could even bag some of your candy cane popcorn up into cellophane bags, tie with a nice Christmas ribbon and Voila, you have the loveliest edible gift idea!

This looks like such a treat! Popcorn is one of my favourite snacks, although I usually keep it basic and just season it with salt. Need to give this sweet version a try 😀
