If you’ve got a waffle maker then try these fun cheesy savoury waffles for a quick lunch for the kids. And as an added bonus they have a portion of veggies hidden inside too!
They’re a brilliant alternative to sandwiches if your kids are getting tired of those. And they can be whipped up in less than 10 minutes.

How To Make Savoury Waffles
The recipe is super easy with just a few simple ingredients. All the measurements are in the recipe card towards the bottom of this post but I’ve also included some step by step photos here too.

- Finely grate a carrot into a large bowl.

- Add in grated cheese, egg and flour.

- And mix all that together.

- Oil a waffle maker and add the mixture to it.
Cook for 5-6 minutes until the waffles are golden brown. Then cut in half and they’re ready to serve up.
Because the carrot is grated so finely, it kind of melts into the waffle batter and you can’t even tell that it’s there. Great for picky eaters!

Waffle Maker Recommendation
If you don’t have a waffle maker but are looking to buy one then I highly recommended this waffle maker which I have.
It’s a 3-in-1 machine, has removable plates and can also be used as a toastie maker and a panini press. So handy for saving spaces instead of having multiple appliances in your kitchen.

Recipe Variations
This recipe is very adaptable and you can experiment with different flavours. You can add some chopped ham or chicken to the batter.
Or make it pizza flavour with some chopped pepperoni and a spoonful of red pesto.
