Six easy meal ideas to make for picky eaters that require minimal or no cooking!

When you are dealing with a picky eating child, it can be very demoralising spending hours cooking up big family meals only for them to be rejected.
Whilst I’m all for encouraging children to try new foods and to be constantly working on expanding their diet, it’s also ok to have days where you offer them up a simple meal.
By using divided plates like my Pick Plates, you can still offer a variety of foods but in a more fun and kid-friendly manner.
Here’s some of my favourite easy meals that I serve up this way.
Wraps & Cold Picky Bits
Cheese wraps served up with some picky bits always go down well in my house.
Here I’ve served them with some cocktail sausages, egg bites, fruit and veg and a little cake treat.

Cold Quiche
Cold quiche might seem like a strange option for picky eaters but hear me out!
When quiche is cold it has a firmer texture. If your child has a sensory aversion for very soft foods try serving it up cold instead.

DIY Lunchables
Make your own lunchables with crackers, slices of salami and squares of cheese.
Much more filling than the small packets you buy in the supermarket and much cheaper too if you are making them regularly.

Airfryer Chicken Nuggets
Chicken nuggets get a bad rap but for a lot of picky eaters it might be the only way to get them to eat chicken so don’t feel bad.
Serve them up with a good selection of fruit and veggies and you can make a very balanced meal.

Beans on Toast
The humble beans on toast dinner is very under-rated in my opinion. Beans contain a good amount of protein and fibre. If you can buy the brands with no added sugar.
I served them up with some grated cheese and white toasted bread here but a wholegrain toast would be even better if your kids will eat that.

Microwave Rice
Something I always have in my cupboard for a quick meal is microwave rice. Ready in just two minutes, I’ve served it up with a wholegrain sandwich thin.
And added some fruits and veggies to boost the nutritional content.
