Gingerbread Flavours

At this time of year I always get obsessed with gingerbread flavoured everything; cookies, cakes, lattes… if it’s gingerbread I’ll have it please!

I make these Gingerbread Brownies for the kids every year, and we even have Gingerbread Granola for breakfast over the festive season!

Now I’ve seen lots of gingerbread hot chocolate recipes around recently.

BUT Toddlers or small kids and hot chocolate don’t mix very well in my experience!

Frozen Hot Chocolate Recipe

So I decided instead to make my own frozen hot chocolate recipe which the whole family could enjoy and that is a bit more kid-friendly!

I’m so pleased with how it turned out! This is a really great holiday hot chocolate for kids.

And I have to say that even though I thought I’d miss it being a warm drink, I found it really refreshing!

How To Make Frozen Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • Hot Chocolate or Hot Cocoa
  • Frozen Yogurt or Ice Cream
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Gingerbread Spices*
  • Whipped Cream
  • Chocolate Shavings
  • Mini Gingerbread Cookies

* You can make your own Gingerbread Spice Mix at home and add it to all sorts of things over the festive season!

You can also substitute the ice cream/frozen yogurt and the whipped cream for dairy free alternatives if you wanted to make a dairy-free frozen hot chocolate instead.

And if you are looking for a festive drink for kids that are a little bit older, or you just fancy a warm version of this drink, then try my Gingerbread Hot Chocolate instead!

I would have gingerbread flavour anything and anytime of day or night. The kids thought these were amazing and they look fab too!
