Kid-Friendly Chicken Recipes

March 10, 2020 by Ciara Attwell, Updated May 16, 2025

If you’re looking for Kid-Friendly Chicken Recipes, then check out these 15 Delicious Recipes That Kids Will Actually Want To Eat!

Kids & Chicken Dinners

Winner winner chicken dinner… or is it?!

Chicken is one of those ingredients that my kids would rarely choose to eat themselves. Instead I have to come up with more and more ways of serving it to them in a recipe that’s tasty and a little bit fun too.

From nuggets to burgers, meatballs and curries, over the years I’ve built up a substantial back catalogue of chicken recipes that are kid-approved and perfect to serve up for family meals.

15 of my favourite Kid-Friendly Chicken Recipes!

Crispy Cornflake Chicken Nuggets

Delicious homemade chicken nuggets. Coated in mayonnaise with a crispy seasoned cornflake crust. Can be made in the oven or airfryer.

Airfryer Chicken & Cheese Pinwheels

This is a really easy chicken recipe for kids. I’ve been making pinwheels for years, like these Ham & Cheese Pinwheels and these Pizza Pinwheels.

But I decided to switch it up by using chicken and cooking them in the airfryer instead.

They are great for lunch at home or can even be packed into a lunchbox for school lunch.

Airfryer chicken & cheese pinwheels served on a child's dived light pink, plastic plate. Pinwheels served with fresh chopped fruit and veggies.

Mini Chicken Burgers

One of my favourite easy chicken recipe for kids are these Mini Chicken Burgers. The kids love these cute little burgers.

They are also really easy to make using some store bought chicken meatballs and add a little bit of fun to dinner time!

Popcorn Chicken

If your kids love the takeaway version of this by the same name, then try my healthier version at home!

Baked and not fried, keeps these chicken nuggets a bit healthier. And my secret ingredient helps keep these popcorn bites extra crispy. A really fun dinner idea for the kids.

Chicken Sausage Rolls

Sausage rolls always seem to be popular even with fussy eaters, so my Chicken Sausage Rolls are a good way to get kids eating chicken.

My recipe only requires 5 ingredients and no faffing with pastry either so, it’s a really quick and easy one!

Chicken Katsu Curry

This is a really mild chicken curry for kids, a copycat of the Wagamama recipe.

You could also make a big batch of the sauce for this in advance and store in the freezer. Then serve up with any chicken tenders or nuggets as and when you need it.

Chicken Lasagne

This Chicken Lasagne is a real comfort food recipe but switched up by using chicken mince instead of beef.

Using chicken mince instead of beef makes it a little healthier and is a great alternative to a traditional lasagne if you are trying to get your kids to eat more chicken.

Sweet Chilli Chicken Meatballs

Meatballs are always a hit with my kids so in an effort to get them to eat more chicken, I cam up with these Sweet Chilli Chicken Meatballs.

Serve them up with egg noodles or straight to wok noodles for an easy dinner for the whole family.

Chinese Chicken Curry

Another mild chicken curry for kids recipe. My Chinese Chicken curry also includes loads of substitution ideas so you can customise to suit your kids tastes.

I have served this recipe very simply this time with boiled white rice as it’s something I know that the kids will eat!

Chicken & Apple Burgers

If there’s one dinner I know my fussy eater will eat, it’s got to be burgers! Making homemade burgers might seem like a pain, but my Chicken and Apple Burgers are really easy to make.

Serve them up with some homemade wedges or oven fries for a simple chicken dinner for picky eaters!

Cheesy Chicken & Sausage Lattice Pie

This is a great mid-week recipe that’s cheesy and comforting and one that the whole family will love. Made with shop bought pastry, it’s super simple to prepare and is on the table in less than an hour.

Sesame Honey Chicken Noodles

These Sesame Honey Chicken Noodles are part of our 15 Minute Meals collection so great if you are looking for both quick AND easy chicken recipes for kids!

I’ve kept the veggies very simple, ones I know my kids will actually eat and that also cook quickly. But feel to play around with the veg to include ingredients that you know your kids will actually eat!

Chicken & Broccoli Fritters

Delicious cheesy fritters made with chicken and broccoli. Super tasty and kid-friendly, great for lunch or dinner too!

On their own, my kids are not massive fans of either chicken or broccoli. But put them together in a tasty cheesy fritter and it’s a different story!
