If you are looking for a quick and easy Christmas activity, these Mini Cookie Houses are a great alternative to making Gingerbread Houses this Christmas!

Mini Cookie Houses - Christmas Food Activity for Kids

If your kids are desperate to make gingerbread houses but the thought of all that baking and decorating is stressing you out then don’t worry! I have this little hack that uses biscuits instead!

For younger children especially, a big gingerbread house can take too long to prepare and decorate so these mini cookie houses are perfect for a quick and easy Christmas activity.

I originally saw this idea on Kidspot and adapted it to biscuits that you can find in the UK and Ireland.

The houses are made with malted milk biscuits and then decorated with Smarties, M&Ms and sprinkles.

You can use other sweets too but anything bigger than a Smartie may be difficult to stick to the biscuit.

Perfect to do with the kids who wouldn’t have the attention span to make a gingerbread house from scratch.

This is such a cute idea! Kids much prefer malted milk biscuits to gingerbread so these work well for us. We’ve made these for something to do on playdates and not just at Christmas.
